It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I regret to announce, Jeff Platt died suddenly on Saturday 29th November, aged 53.
Jeff, the very epitome of a "Covent," started playing in the early 1970s hanging up his boots during the 1990s. A three-quarter, renown for his pace and ferocious tackling, he became a much loved social member at Covents and proved to everyone at last season's VP's reunion, that he was still, the undisputed king of "bottle walking".
Jeff will be sadly missed and our thoughts are with his wife Jane, their 3 sons and the Platt family.
(Coventrians beat Keresley 15-8 today, 2nds went down 14-51 at Bedworth - match reports below)
